SilicoLife is a biotechnology company that harnesses the power of computational biology to sustainably produce valuable compounds through fermentation. What’s the position?
We are seeking a highly motivated person with a committed personality for a individual application to the FCT Fellowships PhD Research call (Concurso para atribuição de bolsas de investigação para doutoramento em todos os domínios científicos 2023).
We are looking for candidates interested in R&D activities in fields such as biotechnology, genome editing, fermentation, machine/deep learning, cell factory design, pathway design, metabolic modelling and laboratory automation. This application must be submitted with SilicoLife as the host institution and one of our academic partners as a co-host, in Portugal we have extended collaborations with the University of Minho and University NOVA Lisbon / ITQB.

The selected candidate must have an M.Sc. in any of the following disciplines/areas of study
- Bioinformatics
- Computer Science / Informatics Engineering
- Systems biology
- Computational biology
- Biological engineering
- Biotechnology
- Bioengineering
- Molecular Biology or a related discipline,
The candidate will have to submit their individual application to FCT.
The approved candidate will work in close cooperation with our team, with the head of laboratory / head of development of the corresponding project, and with the academic partner and supervisor.
